New Music: Dr. Zed Drops Gripping, Heavy-Hitting Anthem "Iron Cold Gun"

There are songs that make you dance, and then there are songs that make you stop everything you are doing and just listen. Dr. Zed’s latest release, "Iron Cold Gun," is firmly the latter.

Born out of raw grief, unfiltered anger, and a desperate cry for systemic reform, "Iron Cold Gun" is more than just a new single—it is a haunting musical monument to a tragedy that shook the nation.

A Tragic Reality Turned into Raw Art

The foundation of "Iron Cold Gun" is deeply personal and heartbreakingly real. The track is dedicated to the memory of Oghenemine "Mene" Ogidi, the 28-year-old rising musical artist who was brutally and extrajudicially murdered by rogue police officers in Effurun, Delta State.

Dr. Zed doesn't shy away from the horrific truth of that night. In Verse 1, the lyrics paint a vivid, chilling picture of Oghenemine’s final moments, incorporating his actual, desperate pleas for mercy caught on viral video:

"Im hand dey back, he no fit fight again / Im voice dey shake, hear as the man dey beg / 'Officer, I go tell you everything' / But the iron cold, the gun dey high..."

By channeling this real-world trauma into the music, Dr. Zed ensures that Oghenemine’s voice is not silenced by the system, but amplified through speakers across the globe.

The Verdict: A Must-Listen Anthem for Change

Musically, the track relies on a moody, atmospheric production that allows Dr. Zed’s delivery to take center stage. The repetition of the bridge—"Justice no dey work... where mouth dey shut"—acts as a heavy, rhythmic call to action for the listener. It reminds us that silence is a luxury we can no longer afford.

I"Iron Cold Gun" is a sobering, uncomfortable, yet absolutely essential listen. Dr. Zed has delivered a masterpiece of protest art, reminding us all that until every single life is safe and protected, none of us are truly free.
